Purpose and Philosophy: A1
The purpose of this website is a act as a resource and guide to help other educators intergrade technology into their classroom. In my experience, I have learning that students respond well to technology in the classroom. When used appropriately and correctly, technology can help motivate, teach, engage and enhance student learning.
Equitable use:
Technology can be a great recourse for teaching students, unfortunately it is not always available to all students. Be mindful of your students access to technology outside the classroom when planning activates involving technology. Each student should have equal access to technology tools such as devices and internet.
Ethical use:
Like the well known saying, with great power, comes great responsibility, the same rings true with technology. When using technology in the classroom it comes with the responsibility to ensure that students are using it responsibly. That requires teaching and monitoring proper use in a safe and secure way. That can include such things from taking care of equipment, searching information safely, cyberbullying, and predator awareness, to copy right infringements and basic privacy. Ensure students awareness in all ethical uses.
Social Responsibility:
The idea that your actions affect others goes along with social responsibility. As teachers it is our responsibility to instill in our students, proper behavior while using technology. The student's community is expanded with technology from local to global possibilities. No longer are they limited in their interactions with those directly around them. Providing and promoting good behaviors and smart communication is vital for our students safety and the safety of others.
